SmartCool Systems installs air conditioning system in Sri Lanka factory

by Rebecca Walker — March 31, 2010—Smartcool Systems Inc. has completed an installation of its ESM technology with Asian manufacturing giant Stretchline. The first installation was on the air conditioning system at a factory in Sri Lanka and achieved over 17 percent reduction in power consumption.

Stretchline has now requested proposals for the implementation of Smartcool’s technology in 10 of its factories across the Asian region. A rollout of such magnitude would be a significant move for Smartcool Systems Inc, in that it opens up a relationship with a global company spanning three continents, as well as a major force within the manufacturing sector.

This particular installation in Biyagama, Sri Lanka was undertaken by the company’s Sri Lankan sales channel, Cedar International. It was intended to demonstrate the effectiveness of the ESM in reducing the power consumption, which ultimately will reduce the overall operating costs of the plant.
