by Shane Henson — November 18, 2013—SMS Assist, a provider of facilities management services, recently announced a five-year contract expansion with Family Dollar Stores to provide maintenance services to the discount retailer’s more than 7,900 locations.
SMS Assist has worked in partnership with Family Dollar since 2004. The deal increases SMS Assist’s scope of work from floor care and exterior services to include facilities maintenance, giving SMS Assist responsibility for day-to-day services as well as periodic maintenance, including snow removal, landscaping and parking lot care.
“This agreement is a win for everyone, including the small local businesses that perform services for SMS Assist. These services providers are also Family Dollar customers, and their businesses will grow in the communities where Family Dollar operates,” said Mike Rothman, CEO of SMS Assist.
