Society for Light and Lightning releases 2009 Code for Lighting CD

by jbs091209b3 — September 14, 2009—The U.K.’s Society for Light and Lighting (SLL), under the Chartered Institution of Building Services (CIBSE), has just released the 2009 Code for Lighting CD—a definitive reference source for lighting design in the U.K.

First published in 1936, the Code was published in printed form until 1994. The 2002, 2004, and 2006 editions were published solely in CD format. The Code is again only available as a CD, but it is now complemented by the recently published SLL Lighting Handbook.

In addition to the Code, the CDs feature a number of lighting guides and other information including LIF technical statements and SLL fact files. Details on road lighting are also included in the 2009 edition, while the section on maintenance factors has been completely updated. In addition, Lighting Guide 9: Lighting for Communal Residential Buildings has been added to the CD.

To purchase the CD, visit the CIBSE Bookshop.

The Society of Light and Lighting is a body for professionals involved with light and lighting, with more than 2,000 members in the U.K. and worldwide. It carries out a full range of activities, including publications and a program of regular seminars and conferences.
