Sodexo teams with BBA Solutions to create one-stop campus store

by Shane Henson — September 27, 2013—In response to growing concerns over rising higher education costs, quality of life services provider Sodexo USA has developed a retail program focused on reducing the overall cost of higher education by emphasizing customer service, high efficiency and low overhead at on-campus stores. Through a partnership with BBA Solutions, the fourth largest textbook company in the United States, Sodexo says it will soon be opening “Campus Store by Sodexo,” a one-stop-shop for college students.

In addition to the textbooks, classroom supplies, and spirit gear students expect to find at a bookstore, the Campus Store allows for customization, including dining components, to make it a complete and immersive retail experience. The management team works closely with the administration to understand what is important to that campus and creates a tailor-made bookstore, says Sodexo.

Campus Store by Sodexo will also focus on creating exceptional student experiences in a number of ways. The program not only offers students direct access to BBA Solutions’ immense textbook inventory, which focuses on both rental and used textbooks and includes eBooks and custom titles, but it also places a new emphasis on technology and user-friendly Web solutions.

“Together, Sodexo and BBA Solutions make the campus store a destination location for students and the campus community,” said Tom Post, president of Sodexo Education, Campus. “With Campus Store by Sodexo, we transform a store into a real showcase—something unique that really sets it apart from other campuses.”
