by Brianna Crandall — July 22, 2015—Every year, hundreds of businesses contact Software Advice to find the best facilities management software to fit their needs. Software Advice provides buyers with detailed reviews and research on thousands of software applications.
These interactions with prospective buyers provide Software Advice with considerable insight into the broader facilities management software market and the trends that surface there.
The company recently analyzed a random sample of these interactions to better understand the factors that influence the purchase decisions of these buyers. These findings can help guide the decisions of other FM buyers in the market for such a solution.
The key findings are:
- Educational building managers primarily use a facilities management system (37%), while managers of office and health care buildings often have no formal system (28% and 35%, respectively).
- The highest percentage of buyers in the sample (35%) say that keeping accurate records is the biggest challenge they face with their current method.
- The primary challenge for buyers currently using a property management system is a lack of specific facilities management features (22%).
