SolarCraft chosen by Dahl-Beck Electric for solar electric system

by Rebecca Walker — February 9, 2009—SolarCraft announced that it has completed the design and installation of an 83 kW solar electric system for Dahl-Beck Electric in Richmond, California. The family owned and operated electric motor repair facility is now powered by the sun.

The newly installed Dahl-Beck solar electric systems utilizes (272) SunPower 305 watt solar panels. The solar electric system is expected to generate 124,573 kilowatt hours annually, and spans over 3,642 square feet.

The facility’s solar electric system will generate enough clean electricity each day to power 36 average homes. The new system will spare the air nearly 64 tons of harmful greenhouse gases annually, equivalent to the air filtering of 13 acres of trees. Over the next 30 years, the air pollution saved will be comparable to driving over 4.4 million miles. It will pay for itself in approximately 7 years.
