by Brianna Crandall — June 19, 2019 — Contract furniture manufacturer Spec Furniture introduced several new seating offerings at this month’s NeoCon 2019 commercial furnishings event, with one product garnering a Silver award in the Best of NeoCon Competition. The company launched the Jazzy collaborative plywood chair and the Calvin heavy-duty healthcare seating, both highlighted below, as well as an extension with CET Designer, the Docker collaborative table, and the Tailor heavy-duty soft health-care seating, which won the Silver award in the Healthcare Patient Seating category.
Jazzy
Spec is expanding seating offering to meet the diverse needs of the contract office furniture dealer and designer community. The lightweight Jazzy chair has the looks and can complement all styles — with “groove” and at a low price point, says the company.
Jazzy comes as a needed option to Spec’s seating collection, particularly to complement the company’s popular lines of collaborative tables: EndZone, Factory, Annex and Manhattan. The collection combines contoured plywood shell in mid-height and standard backs with stackable dining, as well as café- and bar-height frames.
Finish options are vast, and Jazzy can become colorful and eye-catching in no time, says Spec. A full 77 frame finish options, all nine standard Spec stains including clear coat, and hundreds of laminate options are available. Front and back laminate finishes can match or contrast, providing creative freedom for designers and specifiers.
The chair ships September 1, 2019.
Calvin HD
Calvin HD heavy-duty seating has a durable build and is engineered to stand up to the challenge in the toughest of health-care settings. Designed with a fully welded wall-saving frame, no protruding legs or hardware, and a sled base, Calvin HD is said to create a beautiful silhouette in waiting rooms, lounge spaces and exam rooms.
Available in single-seat and bariatric options, this sturdy design has field-replaceable seats, backs and arm caps, making maintenance simple and efficient. Calvin HD is equipped with tamper-proof hardware, and weight can be added as needed.
Spec’s Marketing Manager Dubravka Milinkovic adds that seating solutions in specialized healthcare environments need to provide a sense of familiarity and safety. Milinkovic commented:
Patients will appreciate the residential look and will feel more relaxed and comfortable in an often-uneasy environment. With patients more at ease, caregivers may experience a calmer work environment, as well.
Calvin HD is available now.
