by Ann Withanee — September 14, 2011—Whether as a wallcovering or upholstery, Spinneybeck’s latest additions to its exclusive Laser Engraved leather bring a personalized and luxurious ambience to interiors. This new collection combines the precision of a laser-engaged product with the characteristics of a natural product, creating a modern organic pattern that adds subtle luxury and an element of surprise to interiors.
Genevieve Bennett, a London-based designer with extensive experience in leather wallcoverings, collaborated with Spinneybeck to create the newest of eight standard Laser Engraved patterns; the Fan Flower, Fold, Loop, Ribbon and Starflower patterns are exclusive to Spinneybeck. All eight patterns, as well as custom artwork, can be applied to any of Spinneybeck’s extensive color variety in more than 30 leather qualities (sueded leathers are not recommended).
Belting Leather, a vegetable-tanned, tight-grain leather with a light finish, shows off every minute detail in each of the Laser Engraved patterns, transforming any application into leather art. Because of its durable and water-repellent finish, Belting Leather grew in popularity during the industrial revolution, where leather belts propelled machinery, explains Spinneybeck. These properties also allow Belting Leather to be excellent for upholstery, table inserts and vertical applications.
Quality leathers specified for upholstery or wallcovering can instill interior spaces with a special ambience. Such elegant products afford facilities managers a creative hand in giving expression to spaces that range from a corporate board room to a healthcare waiting room.
