by Brianna Crandall — January 18, 2016—Sports Field Holdings, Inc., an innovative product development company engaged in the design, engineering and construction of athletic facilities and sports complexes, recently announced that the company has been awarded a contract from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, to construct the school’s first-ever outdoor synthetic field.
IMG Academy’s decision was solidified after experiencing recent design improvements made to the Replicated Grass system that provide a product free from crumb rubber and any suspected carcinogens without sacrificing the high blade density of natural grass, improved surface longevity, athletic performance and safety.
IMG Academy is said to set the standard for both athletic and academic excellence, with its list of alumni representing one of the most prestigious of any school in the world. Alumni have reportedly earned 133 all-star spots, 3 Heisman trophies, 108 major championship titles, 63 MVP awards, 14 national titles, 29 world championship titles, and 32 Olympic medals over the course of 35+ years.
Jeromy Olson, chief executive officer, Sports Field Holdings, pointed out:
IMG Academy is known by virtually everyone involved in the world of elite sports. The fact that an institution of such stature chose SportsField Engineering after reviewing countless options and competitors is a glowing endorsement of our superior products and our professional service team. The new football/lacrosse field will no doubt be the first of many field conversions as we continue our partnership with IMG Academy.
