Sto Corp.’s new wall cladding is waterproof, offers insulation, comes in textured finishes

by AF 0506 j3 — May 8, 2009—Sto Corp., a leader in cladding, coating and restoration systems, has expanded its wall cladding solutions with a system that combines StoGuard waterproof air barrier, StoTherm insulated wall cladding and Stolit Lotusan textured finish.

StoTherm Lotusan NExT integrates three proven components—a continuous waterproof air barrier, exterior insulation and a textured finish with self-cleaning properties—into a superior, sustainable wall cladding unlike any other, according to the company. This high-performing, eye-catching wall cladding system saves energy and stays attractive for years.

StoGuard, one of the three components, is a seamless spray-on building wrap that unites energy efficiency and durability, creating a continuous waterproof air barrier beneath exterior wall claddings.

StoTherm insulated wall claddings provide buildings with a blanket of continuous insulation that protects the exterior from temperature fluctuations and keeps interiors more comfortable. It is newly improved with lighter-weight Sto BTS Xtra basecoat/adhesive, and 17 percent recycled content.

Featuring the Lotus-Effect, a patented technology modeled on the self cleaning lotus leaf, Stolit Lotusan textured finish can’t be compared to any exterior product on the market. Like the lotus leaf, the textured finish is rinsed clean with rainfall, thereby reducing maintenance costs. It is highly resistant to mold, mildew, and algae.
