by Brianna Crandall — June 24, 2020 — Contract furniture company Studio TK recently announced the introduction of its Rec tables and enhancements to its Clique benching collection as part of the company’s May 2020 collection launches. Both collections enable flexible workspaces that can be easily reconfigured according to current needs; facilities managers (FMs) can use components of either to meet changing specifications.
Rec tables
The versatile Rec worktables collection was designed by Christophe Pillet. Pillet remarked:
A worktable should be aesthetically intriguing and approachable — not too technical. This is what informed the design for the Rec worktables, which will contribute to gentler contract environments that are both durable and inviting for users.
Rec tables are offered in three popular heights: 29 inches for seated applications, 36 inches to accommodate standing and counter work, and a 42-inch bar height. Top options include single or split surfaces.
Single tops are available in widths of 24, 36, and 48 inches, and up to 227 inches long; split tops range in length from 58 to 227 inches by 48 inches deep and accommodate edge-mounted power for enhanced wire management capabilities.
Charlie Bell, president, Studio TK, pointed out:
Rec harkens back to the era of the raw, rectangular worktables commonly associated with the industrial age. Our new offering defines compelling high work settings for the more active worker and creative types — those who need to sit or stand and accomplish solo, heads-down tasks. Rec supports applications that serve both perimeter and open-space planning, for personal touchdown, quick gatherings, and longer-term collaborative work scenarios.
Offered in a versatile range of top surface materials including linoleum, laminate, and veneer, Rec is suitable for a host of workspace aesthetics. Three base styles are finished in 16 powdercoat colors. The base of the 48-inch deep Rec table incorporates footrests.
In addition to Rec worktables, Studio TK is also launching this year: Sly side, occasional, and coffee tables; Havn occasional tables; Jima seating by Artifort; Clique modular bench enhancements; Vondom seating and tables; and additions to Beso seating and Bevy tables. Clique is described below, and Vondom will be covered in a future FMLink article.

Clique modular bench collection
Studio TK’s Clique modular bench collection with new power and tabletop options is also part of the company’s May 2020 launches.
Originally designed by Mario Ruiz and introduced at NeoCon 2019, Clique is a modular furniture system featuring benches with or without backs, plus sectional benches in a variety of configurations. Ranging from two to eight seats, Clique adapts transversely to any space, creating a more agile environment for mobile workers by meeting the increasing demand for multipurpose social spaces.
The collection can be ideal for companies in need of perimeter benching in meeting rooms or cafés, back-to-back booth scenarios, or as standalone seating in open environments and lobbies.
Bell stated:
Although Clique exceeded our expectations from day one, we have raised the bar in its product category with a few simple design enhancements inspired by client feedback. New tabletop additions provide comfortably seated users with a place to put their coffee, phone or bag while they conveniently plug in and recharge themselves and their mobile devices.
Clique offers a multitude of customizable options, as well as preconfigured benches and sectional benches to make specification simple. Preset seating/tabletop options simplify Clique specification for designers.
Power options include a Clique Single Power Accessory comprising one Simplex power outlet with two USB ports, the Dual Power Accessory (daisy-chained units), or USB only with two ports. Power can be positioned anywhere between seats.
