Super-Pharm to boost efficiency through Panoramic Power’s energy management system

by Shane Henson — July 25, 2012—Super-Pharm, Israel’s largest drugstore chain, has chosen Panoramic Power, the developer of an innovative energy management system (EMS), to improve the energy efficiency of seven of its stores.

Panoramic Power’s P3E platform, which combines wireless, self-powered sensor technology with a cloud-based (Software-as-a-Service or SAAS) analytic platform, will provide Super-Pharm with the ability to measure the amount of energy individual devices and systems consume at each store location where the platform is deployed. Actionable data on the energy consumption of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), lighting and other systems and devices is delivered through real-time alerts and supported with robust device-level reports.

The Panoramic P3E platform is the first ever non-intrusive, scalable energy management solution at the asset level, says the company. It generates alerts and reports on a real-time basis, providing a deep look into how efficiently energy is being consumed at the granular level. Panoramic’s patent-pending, self-powered wireless sensors can be installed on hundreds of circuits in a matter of hours. Once installed, the sensors never require maintenance, service or battery replacement. Customers can access data and analytics through the platform’s dashboard, set up alerts, and automatically receive reports.

According to Panoramic Power, Super-Pharm tested the P3E platform for seven months, and during that short period of time was able to identify inefficiencies in its property’s energy consumption and potential equipment failures, due to inconsistencies in the way certain equipment was consuming energy.
