Sustainable Power Corp. generates electricity from biocrude

by Rebecca Walker — September 17, 2008—Sustainable Power Corp., an international green energy total service provider, announced recently that in furtherance of its agreement with Texas Power Systems, it has completed testing of TPS’s generators with the biofuel product taken directly from Sustainable Power’s reactors.

These tests prove that Sustainable Power can utilize the biocrude from its reactors directly in the TPS generators without any further refining, says the company. In addition, the testing has determined that Sustainable Power’s raw biocrude can operate the engines at essentially full horsepower. This capability will permit Sustainable Power with the TPS products to seamlessly generate electricity at its facilities throughout the world without requiring further refinement of the biofuel products.

As a consequence of the completion of these tests, Sustainable Power has begun the process of moving the 580 kw generator which it acquired from TPS to the Sustainable Power facility in Baytown. At the facility, Sustainable Power will utilize fuel produced from the reactors to generate electricity. For more information, see the Sustainable Power Corp. Web site.
