May 23, 2003—TAC, a provider of building management solutions, has announced the availability of TAC Vista IV, an enhanced version of its LONWORKS-based building management software.
The TAC software combines environmental controls with facility and energy management features into a single, seamlessly interoperable solution. Using the Windows 2000 operating system for easy interfacing, TAC Vista runs on TCP/IP and standard network equipment, and provides LAN communication via Ethernet or fiber optics. Host workstations can communicate across the Internet as well as via commercial WAN/LAN environments.
According to TAC, the software is suited for any building management application, regardless of the building’s size, the number of buildings, or how many miles separate them. Because it’s modular, the client/server design can easily be customized or scaled to accommodate the user’s needs.
