by Ann Withanee — April 13, 2011—The HON Company is putting new design options for conference and meeting rooms “on the table” with the launch of the Preside Conference Collection.

This comprehensive new series of workplace furnishings was consciously developed with people in mindtheir need in collaborative settings to connect not only to each other but also to today’s technology, says HON. Additionally, it was conceived to be compatible with a wide range of decor styles and partners perfectly with a number of HON desking lines. Preside will be a featured introduction during NeoCon 2011, in HON’s Chicago Merchandise Mart Showroom.

The centerpiece of the Preside collection is the conference table. The worksurface can be specified from five feet up to more than 30 feet, an expanse that can seat as many as 30 people. It’s smartly engineered so even with the longest spans a minimum number of base supports are required, allowing more space and legroom beneath the worksurface. Similarly, added legroom is yielded by a thoughtful cutaway design in many of the bases. All told, five different table top shapes are offered in 14 sizes and eight edge styles, and these can be matched with any one of 11 base typescylinders, cubes, hollow panels, to name a few, explains HON.

The Preside conference table can be configured for meeting spaces that run the gamut in both dcor and function, from contemporary and high-tech to transitional or traditional, and from impromptu collaborative meetings in a private office or caf area, to A/V-intensive lecture-style presentations in the corporate board room. The multiple edge profiles in laminates and veneer ensure compatibility with the existing casegoods and other furnishings throughout a workplace.

Additional to the wide-ranging selection of conference table options is an impressive offering of supporting products, including lecterns, credenzas, marker boards, and wall-mounted presentation cabinets. Every meeting space need has been anticipated, from hospitality service and storage to multi-media presentations.

In fact, Preside provides seamless access to technology, with accessible ports and connectors discreetly incorporated into worksurfaces and, several table bases are hollowed allowing for wire management. Most table tops can be specified to feature electrical to power computer, polycom, and A/V cables. Tables also are compatible with an optional 4-track electric system to pass power to multiple ports.

All Preside components are available in a choice of durable wear-resistant laminates, veneer finishes and a variety of paint colors. For more information, see the Web site.
