by Shane Henson — August 13, 2012—@theOffice, a manufacturer of a wide range of stylish, affordable workplace furniture, has launched its new 10 Series task chair, suitable for interior designers, facilities managers and other specifiers wanting to offer employees a comfortable and trendy-looking chair designed to suit various body types.
“This design breakthrough is changing the way we think about chair ergonomics and design. The 10 is designed for our body’s natural shape and movements. Now the body controls the chair, not the chair controlling us,” says Jeff Carlberg, vice president of sales for @theOffice.
The 10 Series new design concept eliminates the need for a traditional bulky and restrictive back support, says @theOffice. The back supports the user from the center spine and pivots with the body’s natural movements. A flexible back reportedly conforms to the torso for “extraordinary” support. Moreover, the unique profile of the flexible back curves inward, eliminating contact with the shoulders, to free up natural movement while providing support. The combination of an innovative support spine, new flexible polymer and unique shape creates a more natural fit that moves with the user, says the company.
The 10 Series also features height-adjustable T-shaped arms with upholstered comfort-foam arm pads. The upholstered contoured foam seat has extra width and depth. This full-feature chair has a height-adjustable seat with a synchro-tilt mechanism, tilt lock and tension control. The under seat mechanism and levers are concealed in a contoured molded shroud to define the profile lines in the innovative chair. Clients can express themselves with a selection of the polymer grid back colors currently offered: black, alabaster and kiwi.
Seeking to live up to the tag line “style made affordable,” the 10 Series is priced aggressively.
