Two lighthearted, durable chairs from Landscape Forms put the fun in function

by Brianna Crandall — August 21, 2015—High-design site furniture manufacturer Landscape Forms recently introduced TOTOTO and Zed: playful, colorful, user-friendly chairs from marketing partner Maxdesign, an Italian innovator in contemporary design.

Richard Heriford, president of Landscape Forms, explains how the chairs complement Landscape Forms’ broad offering of site furniture: “We want to provide furniture solutions that can be used in many kinds of settings and in many different ways. These chairs help us offer our customers products with a range of purposes and personalities. We value great design at every level. TOTOTO and Zed are fun, nice to look at and easy to afford.”

Landscape Forms’ vice president of Design and Marketing, Kirt Martin, says, “These are high-quality, super-simple chairs that are flexible, carefree and designed with change in mind. We ask, ‘How can we help make public spaces better?’ TOTOTO and Zed contribute to the social performance of outdoor space in their ability to create identity in an instant and a social setting overnight. And they can go almost anywhere. On college campuses they transition from the courtyard to the cafeteria. On the urban streetscape they are ideal for sidewalk cafes.”

TOTOTO is a one-piece molded armchair. Designed by Studio Hannes Wettstein, its generous cross-section provides hefty material thickness for strength and stability. The chair’s sides and back are designed to reveal the form of the seat, lending the chair a sensual shape.

Zed is a Z-shape molded chair with four legs made of solid steel rod for durable performance in active settings. Like TOTOTO, it has a drain hole in the seat and is recyclable.

Zed, designed by Hannes Wettstein, is a Z-shape molded chair that takes its name from the shape of the armrest as it joins the seat and back. Its four legs are made of solid steel rod for durable performance in active settings, and powder-coated in silver.

TOTOTO and Zed have integrally colored injection molded polypropylene shells offered in red, graphite and cold grey. Both stack, have drain holes in the seats, and are recyclable.
