by AF 0105 f3 — January 8, 2010—UK’s BIFM organization polled its members and found that two out of three facility managers believe the coming year will be more difficult than the last. It was a tough 2009 financially for many businesses and the FM sector had its share of the downturn. But 66 percent of poll respondents don’t anticipate major improvement in 2010.
One respondent commented that “financial targets are much more challenging” now and “everyone seems to be chasing savings.”
However, there were voices of optimism too, with one respondent noting, “As we get closer to the Olympics we should see increasing opportunities for the facilities sector. One assumes a new government of whichever color will be looking to boost consumer and investor confidence.”
