by Shane Henson — June 7, 2013—USAI Lighting (USAI) has announced that it recently brought to market a full line of miniaturized light-emitting diode (LED) downlight, adjustable and wall wash fixtures that the company says exceed the functionality of a traditional MR16 light source.
Products within the BeveLED mini family are small enough to fit in the palm of end users’ hands yet powerful enough to illuminate an entire room. The groundbreaking LED solution, which is the latest transformative addition to the company’s award-winning Bevel product family, also delivers a customizable color temperature range of 2200K to 4000K, 51 lumens per watt (LPW) and a narrow 10-degree optic with a center beam candlepower (CBCP) of 8725, all within a sleek 1.8-inch optical aperture, says USAI.
Joining USAI’s LED color revolution, BeveLED mini, along with the company’s popular BeveLED 2.0 product family, is available with the company’s patent-pending, award-winning “Warm Glow Dimming” and “Color Curve Dimming” technologies, offering end users a customizable color palette within a range of 2200K to 3500K to help them look, feel and perform better. Utilizing proprietary algorithm and circuitry, Warm Glow Dimming allows the company’s high-performing, optically advanced, color-consistent LED product families to dim from warm to warmer (2700K or 3000K down to 2200K), precisely following the curve of an incandescent 100-watt A19 lamp, while Color Curve Dimming enables them to dim from cool to warm (3500K to 2200K), delivering what the company calls an “indistinguishable” replacement to traditional sources in one fixture.
USAI adds that like all solutions within its Bevel family, BeveLED mini is precisely engineered to work harder and smarter for end-users, ensuring easy installation and serviceability from start to finish. Through a proprietary, high-performance aluminum heat sink, solutions within USAI’s LED color family last a minimum of 50,000 hours—10 times longer than traditional sources. However, when these solutions do reach the end of their lives, or when end users need to adjust their fixture to accommodate changes in design, built-in features such as BeveLED mini’s unique twist-and-lock modular design allows end users to effortlessly adjust color, function and light engines.
Further adding to its functionality, this streamlined light source also features multiple housing options, including universal housing, which allows one-step transitions between downlight, adjustable and wall wash functions even after installation. These built-in components, in combination with various trim or trimless options and finishes (including clear and Black Alzak), replaceable light engines and snap-in accessory holders, allow BeveLED mini to easily evolve with its environment, says USAI.
