USGBC announces 2009 green building leadership award winners

by jbs112409 j3 — November 30, 2009—The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has named the recipients of its 2009 Leadership Awards, recognizing organizations and individuals who signify vision, leadership and commitment to the evolution of green building design and construction.

Presented during the 2009 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the awards recognize leadership achievement in the private, public and non-governmental organization (NGO) sectors.

The 2009 honorees are:

  • Leadership in the Private Sector: Allan Skodowski, LEED AP, of Transwestern; and Jones Lang LaSalle;
  • Leadership in the Public Sector: the U.S. Army’s Construction and Engineering Research Laboratory; and
  • Leadership in the Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Sector: Second Nature, the Association for Advancement in Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), and Eco- America, for their work on the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).
