by Brianna Crandall — June 26, 2019 — Contract furniture designer and manufacturer Versteel showcased several new products at this month’s NeoCon 2019 commercial interiors show in Chicago, including the Sky height-adjustable table and the artistic Thea table, both described below. Sky took home an Editors’ Choice award in the Best of NeoCon Competition in the category of Tables: Height-Adjustable/Training/Work.
Sky
Sky adjustable-height tables, available in a wide array of base styles and top finishes, allow for easy transition with the touch of a single paddle. With a patented pneumatic assist capability, Sky offers great flexibility, allowing the table to be easily adjusted to the user’s desired height as well as tilted, relocated and nested — transforming it into a stand-up work surface, a white board, a privacy screen or a lectern.
Suitable for workplaces and educational environments, Sky tables support human-centric design and wellness in the spaces where we work, learn and collaborate.
Tops
All tops are 1 1/4″ thick. Rectangular tops are offered with fixed or slim-tilt bases. Tables must be in lowest position to tilt. Round and square tops are fixed only.
Adjustability and wiring
Sky tables offer infinite adjustability, from sit to stand or anywhere in between. Tables with casters (standard) have a 29″ to 42″ height range. Tables with glides have a 27″ to 40″ height range.
Tables with casters are ADA compliant.
The slim-tilt tables include two clear plastic wire managers, which are formed to create a J channel. In addition to housing wires, these channels also act as a bumper between nested tables to prevent tabletop damage.
Bases
All Versteel table bases are constructed to meet or exceed applicable ANSI/BIFMA standards and testing.
The Sky adjustable-height table is available in five base styles to coordinate with the following table series: Brattice, Eliga, Performance, Skware, and Vela. Bottom rails will match fixed-height tables; however, the column may differ to accommodate the adjustable height mechanism.
The Vela base includes the series-specific, unique Vela-profile 3″ diameter casters. Each caster is fitted to a reinforced caster receiver.
The rectangle tables offer T or cantilever bases. The round and square tops utilize fixed X bases. Columns are round on all base styles except the Eliga and Skware X base (round and square tables), which have a square column.
The base is available in Versteel’s standard powder coat offering or studio steel. Tables are not available in chrome or nickel.
Rectangle tables are standard with two locking casters on the user side and two non-locking casters on the approach side. X bases are standard with four locking casters. Optional glides are available at no upcharge. Dual Wheel, black 2″ diameter casters are standard on Brattice, Eliga, Performance, and Skware base styles.
Thea
Thea, a new table designed exclusively for Versteel by Roberto Lucci and Made in the USA, has an artistic sensibility built to fuel meetings and study sessions with integrated power.
Each of the four minimalistic, elliptical legs envelopes a circular cap with two integrated USB ports. A black anodized tubular understructure matches the diameter of the USB face and provides added strength as well as a wire management solution.
Thea may be specified in round, square or rectangle in varying sizes, and the top is available in laminate, veneer or Corian. Veneer and laminate top thickness is 1.25”, and Corian top thickness is 1”. Color choices include Ash, Cherry, Maple and Walnut.
The statement-making metal leg may be specified in one of Versteel’s many powder coat or plating options, including nickel and chrome.
