VFA facility 8.0 assists companies in prioritizing capital needs

January 9, 2008—VFA, Inc., a leading provider of end-to-end solutions for facilities capital planning and asset management, has released version 8.0 of its flagship software product, VFA.facility. The latest release includes a new Budgets module, which enables organizations to prioritize capital needs based on overall business objectives in order to create multi-year capital budgets, says the company.

Using the Budgets module, organizations can create ranking strategies to prioritize capital needs based on criteria they define. They can develop multiple strategies, including different strategies for different types of assets. All identified capital needs are rank-ordered according to the strategy they choose, allowing organizations to focus budget allocations on the improvements most critical to the business. Organizations can also compare the impact of different funding levels on the condition of capital assets over time, as well as on long-term investment requirements.

In addition to the Budgets module, VFA.facility 8.0 includes a new application programming interface (API) that promotes data sharing with other business applications. The API enables organizations to extract data from VFA.facility for use in other business applications such as portals and mapping software, notes the company.

The currently available VFA.facility 8.0 release also enables a variety of document attachments, adds new executive-level reports, and includes a unique record locator to simplify the process of sharing data with other applications.
