by Brianna Crandall — March 10, 2014—New York-based innovative lighting manufacturer WAC Lighting recently introduced its new Slice and Dice light-emitting diode (LED) ceiling and wall luminaires. Well-layered, warm ambient illumination is reportedly achieved with WAC Lighting’s new Slice and Dice LED flush mounts. These highly versatile luminaires can be mounted as a ceiling fixture or a wall sconce, providing sophisticated lighting patterns and balance, adding dimension to a room’s layout, says WAC Lighting.

Slice, a round design, is offered in two diameters, a 9-inch 23-watt version, and an 11-inch 28-watt version. The larger size has a light output of up to 955 delivered lumens (2160 LED lumens). The low profile of this fixture of only 2.5 inches ensures ADA compliance when installed as a wall sconce.

The square-shaped Dice is available in 6-inch and 9-inch styles, using 16 and 24 watts respectively, while providing up to 705 delivered lumens (2160 LED lumens). The smaller style extends only 2 3/8 inches from the surface, while the larger model extends only 2 7/8 inches from the mounting surface. This allows Dice to be used within wall-mounted applications where ADA compliancy is a must.

All luminaires are available in both 3000K and 2700K color temperatures, have a color rendering index (CRI) of 85, dim down to 10 percent, and have a long potential life of 50,000 hours.

Constructed with a durable canopy engineered with an integral aluminum heat sink that dissipates heat, these fixtures are designed to maintain cool operation temperature and ensure long LED life. The thick-wall, etched white glass diffuser illuminates perfectly with consistent, balanced lighting to avoid hot spots and shadows, says the company.

Slice and Dice are both available as 277 volt when specially ordered. They are available in Brushed Nickel, Bronze and Chrome designer finishes, and backed by WAC’s five-year warranty.
