by Ann Withanee — August 22, 2011—A “stunning” crystal pendant chandelier updated with light-emitting diode (LED) technology can provide facilities managers and other specifying professionals with greater energy efficiency and lower lighting costs, as well as a unique conversation piece.
Created to showcase a design made possible by advances in lighting technology for a broad spectrum of facilities, the LED version of WAC Lighting’s disco-era faceted ball Roxy creates millions of sparkles with none of the glare found in conventional sources, says the company. Reminiscent of wild nights, WAC Lighting’s sophisticated update on the faceted ball of the disco era is designed to be fun and eye-catching.
This crystal pendant was designed for commercial, retail, hospitality and residential spaces. Roxy includes a shade and adapter that can be used with WAC’s various lighting systems:
SOLORAIL (1-circuit low voltage monorail)
DUORAIL (2-circuit low voltage monorail)
FLEXRAIL1 (1-circuit line voltage monorail)
FLEXRAIL2 (2-circuit line voltage monorail)
120V Track Systems

The retro pendant uses a LEDme Quick Connect Socket Set that features energy efficient 3.4-watt LEDs with a high 119 lumen output, a CRI (Color Rendering Index) of 80 and a 50,000 hour potential life. The versatile pendant can also be used with a 12-volt 50-watt Halogen bi-pin lamp.
Mounting hardware is available in numerous designer finishes to coordinate with a variety of decors, including brushed nickel and chrome. Roxy measures 7 inches tall, 8.25 inches wide, and is offered with a five-year warranty.
