by Brianna Crandall — September 5, 2012—The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) and its member organizations around the world are celebrating World Green Building Week September 17-21, 2012, to highlight the key role that green buildings play in conserving resources, saving money and creating jobs while providing healthier places to live, work and play.
More than 20,000 organizations in 90 nations around the globe will hold free conferences, tours, educational events, and gatherings to mark the week, supporting this year’s theme of “Green Buildings for Great Communities.”
One joint event will take place 7-8 p.m. on September 17: all who are interested are invited to join the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) President, CEO and Founder, Rick Fedrizzi, and the Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) Chief Executive, Romilly Madew, for a live Twitter chat on global green building.
For specific events worldwide, check the WorldGBC’s Events page for the week, or contact your local green building organization.
