by Shane Henson — August 2, 2013—WRAP, a U.K.-based organization working to reduce waste through promoting recycling, launched a free, accredited online training tool this week in efforts to help businesses across England save up to £1,000 per employee by improving the way they manage their resources.
Called On Course for Zero Waste, the course provides free training modules, templates, case studies and other support material to give companies the skills and tools they need to improve the financial and environmental performance of their organization. Users can also enhance their curriculum vitae with continuing professional development and two course certificates accredited by the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, says WRAP.
“Businesses that improve their resource efficiency can play a pivotal role in delivering economic growth and environmental benefits to the U.K.,” said Carl Nichols, head of business and markets at WRAP. “Our comprehensive range of tools and advice can help companies in England grab a slice of the £23 billion of total savings available if U.K. businesses improve resource efficiency, while also helping to create and protect jobs.”
On Course for Zero Waste and other tools can be accessed through WRAP’s new online advice center, the Business Resource Efficiency Hub. The online center, which features a suite of online tools, including an interactive tour and a range of training courses, was developed to give all kinds of small and medium-sized enterprises the resources they need to prevent waste and save money, says WRAP.
