by Shane Henson — July 22, 2011—Y-cam Solutions Ltd, a U.K.-based manufacturer of easy-to-use network cameras, is now offering the Y-cam Eyeball, a mini-dome-style IP surveillance camera. The EyeBall is suited for home, business or office security due to its discrete size, and comes complete with setup software and multicamera viewing software MultiLive.
The EyeBall is the company’s first palm-sized dome camera and is designed to deliver high-end security features at an affordable price. The camera houses Y-cam’s exclusively developed Push & Point lens system, which removes the complexity of installing and using dome cameras by allowing for simple adjustment of the viewing angle without the need for a toolkit. In addition, the EyeBall has a simplified installation process, with just one wire coming from the camera, and a “turn and click” wall/ceiling bracket included.
Additional Y-cam EyeBall features include:
- High quality color images
- Multiple connections—Wi-Fi, Ethernet, PoE
- Enhanced “MoonLight” Mode
- Two-Way Audio
- MicroSD recording
- NAS-Ready—for direct-to-NAS recording
The high-performance Y-cam EyeBall camera operates independently, without the need to be connected to a computer. The operator can view and hear Y-cam data, in real time, from anywhere in the world, via any Internet-enabled computer or on a smartphone using Y-cam’s free mobile apps. It is compatible with any Internet-enabled device, including iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry. If any motion is detected, the camera can instantly e-mail a snapshot, or record the alert to microSD card.
