by Rebecca Walker — September 24, 2010—Safety was at the forefront for designers at Youngstown Glove Company when they created the company’s General Utility lined with Kevlar glove. Designed to keep hands safe whether handling sharp or abrasive glass, metal or wood, these gloves provide ultimate protection all while giving workers the dexterity to get the job done effectively and efficiently.
Part of the company’s Cut-Resistant Series, the General Utility lined with Kevlar glove is the world’s first Dupont Kevlar-lined performance work glove built for all-purpose use and specifically designed to withstand abrasions and cuts, notes the company.
Kevlar lines the entire glove, giving hands the maximum amount of protection. Practically hand armor, the gloves are sure to become a fast favorite with construction, fire safety rescue and farm professionals among others who work with everything from barbed wire to jagged steel.
The glove is said to offer surprising dexterity enabling a high-level of performance. Durability and grip are ensured with extensive non-slip reinforcement built into the palms and fingers of the glove. A synthetic suede base layer works to keep hands dry from water and oil. Double-stitched bonded nylon thread is used throughout the glove giving it extended life.
The glove features a supportive cuff with an adjustable Velcro closure, guaranteeing a snug and secure fit. Hands also stay comfortable thanks to the directional stretch nylon on the top of the hand, which works to wick away moisture and keep hands cool and dry. A terry cloth thumb provides the ability to wipe sweat and debris.
