ZBB Energy sells energy storage systems to Envinity

by AF 0527a5 — June 1, 2009—ZBB Energy Corporation has received an order for two standard, modular, ZESS 50 energy storage systems incorporating ZBB’s proprietary, patent pending, ZESS POWR PECC (power and energy control center), from Envinity Inc., a renewable energy design and installation company.

The two fully integrated ZESS storage modules will be utilized in an off-grid, multi-source renewable energy power system for a 15,000-square-foot residence in central Pennsylvania. The ZESS POWR PECC will control energy and power input from two 15kW solar PV arrays, ten 1.2 KW vertical axis wind turbines and a propane generator to provide a single regulated output for use by the residents as their primary electrical service. The ZESS system also provides for future input from a micro-hydro energy source.

The system will illustrate the possibilities for off-grid renewable power applications, according to Envinity. While load efficiency will always remain a priority for stand-alone system design, the ZESS and ZESS POWR PECC system allows much greater flexibility in load and renewable generating source selection, says the company.

The combination of Envinity’s experience with renewable energy systems engineering and design, integration and service, along with the use of ZBB’s ZESS 50 advanced energy storage units and ZBB’s proprietary ZESS POWR PECC hybrid power conversion system provides a well designed, fully integrated power and energy management system for all renewable and conventional electrical generating sources.
