June 17, 2005—The highlight of NeoCon, the premier event of contract furnishings at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, is the Best of NeoCon competition.
This major interior furnishings competition is unusual in several respects. Entires are limited to products making their debuts during the three-day June event. It is a “kick the tires” opportunity for jurors to examine the entries in person, not by viewing slides. And all judging took place three days prior to the opening of NeoCon, giving attendees the full three days of NeoCon to view winning entries—along with the thousands of other products displayed in showrooms and product suites spanning six floors of Merchandise Mart.
The jury, composed of 68 facilities professionals and interior designers, worked in teams to examine more than 319 entries in 29 product categories, ranging from Architectural Products to Wall Coverings. Sponsors of The Best of NeoCon are Contract Magazine, International Facility Management Association (IFMA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc., and McMorrowreport.com.
