by Brianna Crandall — January 10, 2018 — BOMI International, the Independent Institute for Property and Facility Management Education, recently announced that it will be piloting two new virtual delivery methods in 2018: Live Virtual Learning and Online Self-Paced.
The decision to create new course delivery methods was based on feedback BOMI International received from its community of learners and graduates, as well as a recent survey asking learners to detail a learning experience that would best fit into their schedule while also supporting their career goals.

Live Virtual Learning (LVL)
Live Virtual Learning (LVL) is a four- to six-week blended learning experience consisting of biweekly live-online sessions combined with structured asynchronous review activities. Throughout an LVL course, learners have access to real-time instructor support, peer-to-peer interaction, practice assessments, and additional e-resources to complement course materials.
The LVL delivery method will launch with The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part II course on March 6, 2018, followed by The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I course beginning May 8, 2018.
Online Self-Paced (OSP)
Online Self-Paced (OSP) is a pure asynchronous learning experience incorporating online resources with “start-anytime” access 24/7. The OSP delivery method provides learners who prefer the flexibility of the current Self-Study option with additional e-resources to aid them in meeting their desired learning outcomes. BOMI International’s acclaimed High-Performance Sustainable Buildings Program is the initial OSP learning experience offering, with registration available beginning March 6, 2018.
