by Brianna Crandall — June 14, 2019 — Teknion Corporation, an international designer, manufacturer and marketer of innovative workplace interiors, celebrated last week’s NeoCon commercial interiors show in Chicago with two awards in the prestigious Best of NeoCon Competition. The Tek Vue wall system (covered previously on FMLink) brought home the Gold award in the Movable Walls category, and the modular Teknion Bene Box (highlighted below) won a special Innovation award, competing in the Furniture Collections for Collaboration category.
Bene Box
Teknion announced a new partnership with the European office furnishings company Bene and previewed the new Teknion Bene Box at NeoCon. Teknion Bene Box is a simple plywood box that can also be a bench, a table, a desk, a cabinet, a platform and more. The unassuming, anti-formal aesthetic is ideal for open, democratic work cultures.
Michael Fried, managing director, Sales, Marketing and Innovation, Bene, commented:
What initially attracted us to Teknion was the realization that we were partnering with a company similarly focused on innovative furniture design, quality product and a desire to create inspiring workspaces. Teknion is as excited with the possibilities that Bene Box presents as we are. We look forward to working closely with them to further inspire creativity in the workplace.
Joe Regan, senior VP, Design and Marketing, Teknion, stated:
Bene is a significant market player in Europe, and an international leader in design and furnishing modern office and working environments. Bene Box is an innovative concept that complements our product portfolio, and provides customers with endless opportunities to create lively, dynamic environments with ease.
Ally Ramsay, director, Product Management, Core Products, Teknion, remarked:
Teknion Bene Box deconstructs the concept of what furniture is, and ought to be. It’s the ideal multifunctional modular furnishing system, combining desks, tables, stools, shelves and storage space to create flexible options for any room, and for an entire floor plan. The Teknion Bene Box easily assembles, disassembles and can be modified by hand in just a few quick steps to create whatever settings are required. Deceptively simple, it isn’t just how they are made, it’s what you make with them.
Boxes measure 360mm wide x 360mm deep x 381mm high (14.2 x 14.2 x 15 inches). They are made from pine plywood and are available with or without storage openings. A top closes the boxes and provides a surface. A seating pad placed on the top provides a comfortable seat. Carry handles can also be used to connect boxes, while glides provide stability when stacking the boxes. The Top 180 serves as a functional board that connects up to five boxes, providing a surface. A Wheel Tray provides mobility.
Teknion Bene Box applications include stools, benches, desks, high tables, cabinets, lecterns, platforms, storage tower, shelving units and more. Boxes can be used to flexibly shape space to support a number of different team tasks, creating spaces that encourage lively group dynamics and creativity. Their flexibility makes them perfect for startups and coworking spaces where tomorrow is always the unknown.
Teknion Bene Box also solves the problem of multipurpose rooms and team spaces where the action changes day to day. Build and rebuild, mix and remix to create just the right format for a work session or a celebration. Teknion Bene Box is always a work in progress.
Manufactured to the highest standards in North America, Teknion Bene Box is available with shorter lead times and fast delivery.
In addition to the Teknion Bene Box, Teknion also featured at NeoCon the Emote Private Office and C+D Conference Table designed by Mario Ruiz, Tek Booth, Teknion Reception Desk Program and Naava Healthtech Green Wall. New seating products include the Just-Us Chair designed by Justus Kolberg, Wilkhahn AT Task Chair, Wilkhahn Occo Multi-Purpose Seating, the Sprout Stool and Table Collection designed by Thomas Pedersen, and Laru Wood Guest Chair by Studio Tolvanen.
