January 7, 2004—Building automation systems provider Alerton Inc. has released its latest version of WEBtalk, BACnet building automation software that allows online access to system controls and displays the data as Web pages. The new version provides new tools for alarms, schedules, and trend logs, which give facilities engineers new flexibility to view, add, remove, modify, and track system dataall through their Web browser. At the heart of the WEBtalk system is the WEBtalk IPort, which is based on server-class hardware and is designed to run indefinitely without scheduled maintenance.
WEBtalk 2.0 gives users the ability to view and acknowledge alarms. Users can temporarily disable alarm notifications and sounds for the current session. WEBtalk also displays alarm history data, which can be sorted and filtered by several different criteria.
WEBtalks new schedule feature offers weekly views as well as all scheduled holiday, standard, and event occurrences. Users can sort and display schedule lists according to monitored points or zone, or by schedule names for quick identification. Users can also pick which day of the week they want displayed first on the week overview.
Trend logs in WEBtalk 2.0 enable facilities managers to view sampled data in chart or graph form. Users can also download data to any application that supports .csv files to create charts and graphs for more sophisticated analysis and reporting. WEBtalk 2.0 uses simple formats so time and date changes can be made quickly.
WEBtalk 2.0 offers the ability to link to other Web pages by specifying a URL in the launch application button of an Envision for BACtalk data display.
WEBtalk 2.0 is available now through authorized Alerton dealers. For product ordering and technical information, call Alerton at 425/869-8400.
