by Rebecca Walker — February 22, 2010—The #19 Chair from Allsteel, introduced eight years ago, is in the spotlight on the set of NBC-TVs hit comedy, “Parks and Recreation.” The sitcom stars “Saturday Night Live” alum Amy Poehler and actor Nick Offerman, who spends much of his time in his corner office and is often filmed sitting in his #19.
The choice of the show’s set designers, #19 also can be spotted (look quickly) in the Academy Award-nominated flick “Avatar,” which brings the chair full circle in Hollywood, since it was a gift in the Oscar presenter’s gift basket the year Allsteel launched it.
Allsteel’s #19 has a weight-activated recline allows the chair to move with the sitter, and streamlined profile that is supportive, reduces pressure and fatigue, and regulates body temperature. It meets strict indoor air quality standards and is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum. In addition, 88 percent of the materials used in its manufacture are recyclable, and Allsteel will voluntarily reclaim any #19 chair that is no longer useful.
