by Brianna Crandall — September 8, 2010—Amrep, producer of maintenance chemicals for the janitorial and MRO markets, and Waterbury Companies, provider of air care delivery systems and FM products, announced September 3 they have signed a definitive asset purchase agreement pursuant to which Amrep will acquire brands and assets used by Waterbury in its North American operations.
Waterbury’s TimeMist, MicrobeMax, TimeWick and Touch Less Control brands will expand Amrep’s product offerings in the air care, water conservation and insect control categories, which currently include Amrep’s Misty, Next Dimension and i-Chem along with other proprietary brands.
In the area of sustainable product solutions, the companies note that the low-VOC offering of the passive TimeWick by TimeMist air care system will compliment the low-VOC products currently offered by Amrep in the Aspire line of products.
Amrep is a specialty chemical formulator and packager that manufactures professional-grade chemical products for the JanSan/Institutional, Industrial/MRO and other markets.
Founded in 1812, Waterbury Companies is reportedly one of the oldest operating companies in American business. Privately owned, it is a diversified manufacturer and global marketer of innovative consumer and commercial products.
