by Brianna Crandall — March 2, 2015—The popular ArchDaily Web site has released its Building of the Year Awards 2015, chosen by the global architecture professionals who make up its readership. Out of over 3,000 projects, more than 31, 000 of the site’s readers have selected what they consider the best architecture worldwide in light of the buildings’ beauty, intelligence, creativity, or service to the community.

Divided into 14 categories, this year’s winners vary from up-and-coming architects like EFFEKT, who constructed a cluster of structures to create a new cancer counseling center in Denmark, to architects who are leading the charge on a new wave of popular regionalism such as Vietnamese Vo Trong Nghia, to Pritzker Prize-winning architects such as Alvaro Siza, Herzog & de Meuron and Shigeru Ban. However, no matter the firm, each project stands out for its unique and innovative design, says ArchDaily.
