by Rebecca Walker — January 10, 2011—Arconas, a leader in providing public seating in more than 130 airports around the globe, and Powermat, the pioneer and leader in wireless power have announced a deal to bring wireless charging capability to airports worldwide.
Powermat will unveil a solution specifically catering to the airline traveler at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The incorporation of wireless charging into airport seating and lounge areas is an unprecedented step toward bringing wireless energy to markets that are both untapped and ripe for the convenience and ease of wireless power integration, the companies say.
“Our airport seating is designed to enhance the air traveler’s experience with as many value added customer amenities as possible,” said Pablo Reich, Executive Vice President of Arconas. “The ability to wirelessly charge their devices at the airport will improve the entire travel experience for so many. When airports combine Powermat Wireless Charging with our already successful inPower Flex modules, they can offer air-travelers all possible charging solutions from the comfort of a seat.”
