ASHES Webcasts cover disaster preparedness, infection control, more

by jbs072609 f3 — July 29, 2009—The American Society for Healthcare Environmental Services (ASHES) of the American Hospital Association recently announced the availability of various educational sessions for professionals in healthcare environmental services through its ASHES Live Learning Center (LLC), and the availability of four free Webcasts to ASHES members.

The educational sessions for professionals in healthcare environmental services available through the ASHES Live Learning Center include more than 100 educational opportunities. The LLC synchronizes audio and PowerPoint presentations and makes the educational experience as easy as watching a video from a personal computer. The Web-based education is available 24/7.

The high-value, low-cost sessions include such topics as: design and construction, disaster preparedness, environmental sanitation, finance, infection control, process improvement, patient satisfaction, patient transport, regulatory compliance, staff management, sustainability, textiles and linen services, and waste.

Customers can purchase an annual or six-month pass to all of the education or access topic-specific packages at a lower rate. For more information visit the ASHES LLC Web site and click on “Free Samples” to access three free recordings.

The free Webcasts for ASHES members are copyrighted by the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and have been made available to the membership through an unrestricted educational grant from The Clorox Company from July 1, 2009 through April 1, 2010.

Information on how to access these educational opportunities is posted in the Members Only section of the ASHES Web site. Members must register or sign in to the Web site and add their membership number before accessing this information.
