ASID announces 2011 Bloom Award winners in sustainable commercial interior design

by Brianna Crandall — May 6, 2011—The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), in partnership with Interiors & Sources magazine, has announced the winners of the 2011 Bloom Awards. The Bloom Awards honor products that embody effectiveness and innovation in sustainable commercial interior design.

The 2011 entries were judged on a number of environmentally focused criteria including resource efficiency, recycling and waste management, environmental innovation, materials selection and life cycle analysis (LCA), as well as aesthetics.

The 2011 Bloom Award categories and recipients are:

  • Flooring: The Sound and Fury Collection by Milliken
  • Innovative Materials: The Bullet by DIRTT Environmental Solutions
  • Innovative Systems: SOLON by BLANCO
  • Lighting: Equo LED Desk Lamp by Koncept Technologies Inc.
  • Textiles: Sting by Camira Fabrics

Winners will be featured in the Summer 2011 issue of ASID’s member publication, ASID ICON, as well as the May issue of Interiors & Sources.
