Avermedia Group chosen to provide security at Taiwan’s largest department store chain

January 10, 2011—Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, founded in 1989, is the largest department chain store in Taiwan, with thousands of square feet in Taipei and all over the country. To provide security, it has selected Avermedia Group’s SEB5116H DVRs to connect 256 cameras throughout the shopping center.

Avermedia Group’s SEB5116H provides H.264 compression that not only saves storage space and equipment costs, but also incorporates an intelligent software search of recorded surveillance data through a simple to use UI operation used by security personnel in case of emergency.

For example, the intelligent data search function can be used to search events by date, hour, minute, and second; In addition the emergency SOP feature illustrates the measures which should be taken by security guards following an event; PTZ camera points zoom-in automatically to pinpoint the incident.

Avermedia has offered free DVR integration to the central management system (CMS) in this project and is ready to help future surveillance expansion to all Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department stores throughout the country.
