Big-D Construction adds 22 LEED-accredited professionals

by AF0128a 3 — January 30, 2009—Big D Construction announced that 22 of its employees recently became Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System Accredited Professionals. These new LEED-accredited professionals raised the company’s total to 30 accredited professionals, ranging from superintendents to vice presidents, says the company.

Big-D Construction has completed four LEED-certified projects to date (25 percent of all LEED-certified projects in Utah), including its corporate headquarters, which has achieved a LEED Gold certification and is one of the only LEED certified buildings in Utah that is also on the historic registry.

Big-D is currently working on 11 other projects from pre-construction to construction that are on track for LEED certification, says the company. Three of these projects are anticipated to be LEED Platinum, the highest LEED certification.
