CNA expands construction expertise to renewable energy contractors

by Rebecca Walker — August 6, 2010—CNA has launched a Commercial Affiliation Marketing (CAM) program for Renewable Energy Contractors. As the global insurer’s 12th Construction CAM, Renewable Energy Contractors represents an opportunity for CNA to apply its underwriting, claim and risk control expertise to meet the specific needs of this segment of the construction industry.

CNA’s Renewable Energy Contractors insurance program is designed for non-residential wind, solar and geothermal energy construction projects, including contractors who erect or service land-based metal wind turbines; solar power installation or service work; and geothermal drilling operations that do not drill beyond 150 vertical feet.

“We are confident this new program will enhance our reputation as one of the pre-eminent construction markets in the insurance industry,” says John Tatum, vice president of Construction, CNA. “CNA has been writing construction risks for more than 60 years, and this experience, coupled with our ability to stay on top of emerging trends, gives us a true competitive edge.”

Since the creation of its first CAM program in 1968, CNA has helped meet the insurance needs of diverse, complex industries through the development of specifically designed programs. Over the years, CNA has distinguished itself in the CAM arena with industry-specific coverages, exemplary risk control and claim services, as well as association endorsements.
