by Shane Henson — May 21, 2012—American porcelain tile manufacturer Crossville has announced the launch of Shades by Crossville, a new line of porcelain tile offering a fresh, urban look in a sleek range of minimalist colors.

Suitable for interior floors and walls as well as exterior walls in a range of buildings, the line’s contemporary palette is a mix of nine “inviting, refined” tones with linear detailing. Six shades of gray—ranging from warm to cool—are complemented by both warm and cool white hues and a rich, not-quite-black selection, as well. The colors stand alone to create monochromatic looks or mix and mingle for versatile, patterned designs. The subtle, linear details can be installed in directional harmony for a clean, expansive appearance or placed randomly to add interest and visual dimension.

Rectified and designed for modularity, Shades by Crossville comes in 24″x24″, 12″x24″ and 6″x24″ tiles. As part of Crossville’s “Get Planked” program, the line can also be produced in custom sizes for extended versatility and truly custom applications. Shades’ modern, decorative accents—1″x3″ honed, stacked mosaics in warm, cool or white combinations and internationally-sourced metallic mosaics—offer stylized, finished designs.

Manufactured at the company’s plant in Crossville, Tennessee, Shades by Crossville is produced with a minimum 20 percent recycled content.
