EcoChamber online courses to educate professionals on sustainability issues

by Shane Henson — September 24, 2012—EcoChamber, a nonprofit formed as “the first global chamber of commerce” to champion green businesses, recently launched online courses in sustainability practices to support organizations working to green their business practices and facilities.

The courses educate organizations on core sustainability issues as well as the process of implementing sustainability and energy-saving programs. The educational topics covered are beneficial for managers and supervisors who will be involved in the process of implementing energy-efficient and sustainable practices, employees who need information to support their employers’ sustainability initiatives, and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professionals who want to earn CEU hours.

The eleven courses cover such topics as sustainability planning; green building, systems and materials; green certifications and standards; green supply chain management and sustainable purchasing; waste management; green fleet management; water conservation; green cleaning; and renewable energy.

The goal with these new course offerings is to make it easier for all companies to adopt environmentally friendly practices. With courses ranging from $28-$60, any sized company can learn and implement strategies that will not only be good for their business, but also for the community and environment overall.
