by Shane Henson — September 18, 2013—Elpas, a Tyco Security Products brand, has announced the release of a new mobile app for both Android and Apple smartphones that is designed for security and emergency management professionals to use with Elpas’ Eiris Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) Management Software.
Named “Eiris Go,” the app brings Eiris real-time location alert monitoring and management to first responders, anywhere, anytime. Eiris Go receives prioritized, targeted alerts, ensuring that the appropriate response teams receive the correct alerts. With Eiris Go, emergency field personnel can receive immediate, up-to-date indoor location positioning data about the location of a security situation as the incident unfolds, says Elpas.
Eiris Go is beneficial in many markets, including education, healthcare, correctional, and commercial. Eiris Go can be used by care providers for rapid response to a resident’s medical needs. Security officers can receive urgent duress calls on their mobile phones assigning them to specific security incidents.
Eiris Go includes voice-based emergency calling functionality when backup assistance is required by the responding field personnel. Additionally, Eiris Go has a speed dial feature so that the responder can actually place a voice call into the location of the incident.
“For emergency field personnel, where response time is critical, delivering the location of the security incident to a mobile phone can optimize response time, gaining critical seconds, which makes the difference,” said Michael Wasserstein, general manager of Elpas. “Eiris Go helps manage emergency situation response efforts and is another tool in the flexible notification system already available through the Eiris RTLS Management Software.”
