by Brianna Crandall — March 14, 2011—EMCOR Group (UK), which was the first FM provider in the U.K. to be awarded certification to PAS 11000, the standard for Collaborative Business Relationships, by the British Standards Institution (BSI) in April 2010, announced it has achieved an additional and new certification—the full British Standard BS 11000.
EMCOR UK said it is the first FM provider to achieve the new BS 11000 certification, recognizing EMCOR’s track record in developing long-term client relationships. The new British Standard BS 11000 builds on PAS 11000 by emphasizing improved strategic collaboration across public and private organizations in the U.K., as well as recognizing the importance of collaborative work on a global scale.
EMCOR says its clients have always benefited from its collaborative approach, but since April of last year, an independently assessed framework has been in place that effectively ensures the knowledge, skills, processes and resources to meet mutually defined objectives are in place. EMCOR UK provides facilities management and engineering services to a diverse range of private and public sector organizations.
The new BS 11000 is the first relationship management standard for creating and maintaining successful business-to-business partnerships and provides a foundation for assessing organizations internally and externally, which will drive improved performance across the FM industry.
From museums to complex manufacturing environments and prime real estate to government facilities, EMCOR offers a broad range of integrated services and tailored flexible support that allows clients to concentrate on their core businesses. For more information, visit the EMCOR Web site.
