FM:Systems to enhance facility operations for Colorado Springs utilities

by AF 0128d5 — January 30, 2009— FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facility management (CAFM) software, announced that Colorado Springs Utilities, a municipally-owned, four-service utilities company, has chosen FM:Interact to improve customer service, manage the lifecycle of equipment within its facilities, and meet local government compliance requirements.

Colorado Springs Utilities provides high quality, reliable utility services to its customers based upon four chief principles: a dedicated workforce, ongoing maintenance, long-range resource planning and in-depth public processes. To better support these business goals, the facilities group looked to the FM:Interact Workplace Management Suite.

To improve customer service, Colorado Spring Utilities uses the FM:Interact Move Management Module to reduce delays and miscommunications typically associated with manual move processes. When an internal customer submits a move request, the module helps plan, track and realize efficiencies throughout the move process. Once the move has taken place, the system automatically sends a feedback request form to the customer. Colorado Springs Utilities can then make adjustments based on performance metrics and customer feedback to ensure any bottlenecks are eliminated for future moves.

FM:Interact also serves as a platform to support the company’s continuous process improvement initiatives. For example, the facilities team configured the space and asset management modules to manage security equipment.
