On Monday, April 3, 2000, Graphisoft announced that it has acquired Drawbase Software, a computer-aided facilities management (CAFM) software and services provider, for a purchase price of close to $2 million. Drawbase, based in Newton, Mass., will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Graphisoft U.S. Inc.
Drawbase’s CAFM solutions, employed internationally in the healthcare, financial, real estate, architectural, educational, communications and government sectors, will be complemented by Graphisoft’s ArchiFMTM 2000. Based on ArchiCAD® and the Virtual BuildingTM concept, Graphisoft’s new facilities management tool is currently available in Europe and is scheduled for release in the United States later this year.
“As we continue to develop Virtual Building technologies that link all aspects of a building’s lifecycle, CAFM is a priority,” says Graphisoft U.S. Inc. President Tams Hajas. “With Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD technology at the core, we’ll speed the migration of CAFM from 2D to 3D and to object and Web-based solutions.”
