by Jbs011110c3 — January 13, 2010—HP Products Corporation, headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana, has completed the acquisition of Great Lakes Supply and Chemical, located in Michigan City, Indiana, according to an HP Products news release.
Great Lakes Supply is a regional distributor of janitorial equipment, cleaning supplies and industrial packaging goods. It serves customers in the 100-mile radius surrounding its northwest Indiana headquarters. In addition to supplies and goods, Great Lakes Supply provides value-added services such as helping customers increase efficiencies while reducing operating costs. The company also provides green cleaning products and program implementation.
Joe Nelmar, president of Great Lakes Supply and Chemical, purchased the company nearly 20 years ago. Since that time the business has quadrupled in size, reports HP Products. Nelmar will remain with HP Products as the head of its Calumet Division. Details of the transaction, including the purchase price, are not being disclosed.
HP Products distributes facilities maintenance supplies throughout the Midwest and has branches in Chicago, IL; Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Detroit, MI; Paducah, KY; and St. Louis, MO. More than 40 percent of its business comes from manufacturing companies that rely on HP Products as a single source supplier of janitorial supplies, packaging, safety materials and lamping, laundry/dietary chemicals, service and bioaugmentation digesters.
