IICRC, NADCA to promote hiring certified inspection, cleaning, restoration and HVAC professionals

by Shane Henson — September 25, 2013—The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announced this month that it is aligning itself with the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) to collaborate and raise awareness about the importance of hiring certified professionals within the inspection, cleaning, restoration, and heating, air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) industries.

Through the memorandum of understanding signed by the two organizations, the IICRC and NADCA will maintain a working relationship that will involve the exchange of industry knowledge between organization executives. As part of the agreement, both organizations will also work to promote each other’s awareness and education initiatives, as well as encourage their members and registrants to work together to create opportunities for technical training during annual meetings.

The IICRC is an international, ANSI-accredited standard-development organization that certifies individuals in more than 20 categories within the inspection, cleaning and restoration industries.

“By partnering with NADCA, we will be able to create greater awareness for the Institute by promoting the IICRC to NADCA’s extensive membership,” said Darrel Paulson, chairman of the IICRC. “We will also exchange best practices with NADCA to drive the advancement of standards and certification procedures within our industry.”

NADCA is a nonprofit association of companies engaged in the cleaning of HVAC systems. NADCA’s mission is to represent qualified companies engaged in the inspection, maintenance and restoration of HVAC systems, promote source removal as the only acceptable method of cleaning, establish industry standards for the association, and assist NADCA members in providing high-quality service to their customers.

“Partnering with the IICRC provides us the opportunity to expand our knowledge and better serve those within our shared industries,” said Bill Benito, president of NADCA. “We look forward to collaborating with the IICRC and developing a strong relationship.”
